Claudia J. Nicholson is an experienced museum professional who has worked in a variety of museum settings from a 29-year-old start-up museum to federal and state institutions. Her primary interest is in historical collections and the meaning encoded within them. Through research, cataloging, and exhibition work, she has spent a career teasing out the meaning of objects and finding ways to make those meanings personal to museum visitors. She is an engaging writer, having written thousands of exhibit labels in her career, and many successful grants for all kinds of projects.
She is now expanding her museum practice to include work with all types of museums, under contract. She is seeking interesting projects that will introduce her to new collections, and allow her to learn, as well as teach.
